JOB REQUIREMENTS: QUALIFICATIONS Must be 18 years of age and have a HS
Diploma or equivalent. Must have reading, writing and simple math
skills. Must be able to read blue prints. Must have previous experience
working as a Machine Operator I within Stainless Steel. Must have
welding experience and knowledge of TIG welding as would be shown by the
passing of a hands-on competency test; the knowledge one might get from
a vocational school course is helpful. DUTIES Operates highly complex
machinery used in the production process. From prints, adjusts and tig
welds stainless steel shells and components. Performs semi-complex
machine set-ups; loads welder with component parts to be welded. Ensures
machines are operating at required capacity and that production
requirements are met. Monitors the performance of equipment; identifies,
troubleshoots, and resolves problems in order to maintain efficient
operations. Observes machine operation to verify accuracy of machine
settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance production.
Monitors controls of welder (temp, cycle time, amps-volts, etc.)
Recognizes process upset; both special and common cause, and notifies
the appropriate person. Assists in preparing and maintain scorecards,
Gemba Boards, etc., so that performance problems can be identified and
resolved. Assists maintenance team in basic troubleshooting and
equipment malfunctioning diagnostics. Maintains equipment and performs
preventive maintenance notifying Group Leader/Maintenance personnel if
welding machine malfunctions. Visually inspects welds to assure that
blueprints, code and quality standards are met. Supporting the training
and development of peers within the organization. Performs assembly,
packaging, housekeeping and other related duties as may be assigned by
