Senior Electrical Engineer

A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed for an American multinational technology company that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and related services in the Boydton, VA area. The Senior Electrical Engineer oversees on-site datacenter construction activities, ensuring design compliance, managing technical issues, and leading coordination efforts across teams to deliver high-quality, standards-aligned infrastructure.

responsibilities:

• Represent electrical engineering and project management during all phases of datacenter campus construction.
  
  
• Conduct site walks and inspections to monitor progress and compare to design intent and benchmarks.
  
  
• Identify and escalate concerns for engineering review.
  
  
• Collaborate with company site teams and attend QA meetings, schedule reviews, and risk management sessions.
  
  
• Monitor project delivery, especially Electrical and EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring Systems) risk items.
  
  
• Review and validate construction drawings, specs, standards, and commissioning documentation.
  
  
• Oversee and support submittal reviews, RFI responses, and commissioning activities.
  
  
• Maintain high understanding of commercial/industrial architecture with emphasis on datacenter systems.
  
  
• Interpret construction drawings and terminology accurately.
  
  
• Collaborate with diverse teams under pressure, while maintaining composure and professionalism.

Skills:

• Proven ability to evaluate construction documentation and ensure alignment with project execution.
  
  
• Experience with electrical system design, power distribution, backup power, EPMS, control diagrams, and communication protocols.

Education and Experience:

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience or
  
  
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering + 5+ years experience or
  
  
• Master's degree + 3+ years experience.
  
  
• At least 5 years of experience in datacenter electrical engineering.
