Job Description Join our team as a Superintendent, where you will be an integral part of the Everglades Restoration Program. You will take on a pivotal role in overseeing field operations for a large pump station and reservoir project. Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support and supervision for the field labor force, with a focus on piping and plumbing.
- Ensure the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors, strictly adhering to company safety policies and programs.
- Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of the field labor force.
- Inspect contractor or subcontractor operations to ensure compliance with contracts.
- Maintain a positive relationship with internal and external clients, including owners and architects/engineers.
- Develop and maintain a site logistics plan in coordination with the Project Manager.
- Conduct quality inspections and coordinate site testing and inspection efforts.
- Monitor costs, including labor time and material expenses.
- Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring.
- Prepare detailed short-term schedules and ensure all activities occur on or ahead of scheduled dates.
- Prepare and submit Superintendent Daily Reports.
- Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
- At least 5 years of experience as a superintendent, particularly in pump station, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or piping/plumbing projects.
- Experience with steel pipe and large diameter PVC pipe.
- Broad understanding of industry standards and practices.
- Familiarity with project drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
- Strong math and accounting skills.
- Knowledge of grading, drainage, paving, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems related to pump station construction.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership and management skills, with the ability to delegate effectively.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Effective team collaboration skills.
- Estimating skills are a plus.
- Junior College or Vocational education is desired.
- OSHA, First Aid/CPR certifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Procore, eCMS, RMS, Prolog, and/or Autodesk.
- Experience with SFWMD is a plus.
