Job Duties
Position performs repair, preventative maintenance, and service of all plumbing systems according to building codes and standards. Maintains inventory through planning and purchasing and responds to work requests in a timely manner in a Total Maintenance System (TMS). Supervises inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility. May respond to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis. May assist in other areas of Building and Grounds department, including preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
Possess expertise in corrective maintenance, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance specifically related to plumbing and steam-fitting systems. Proven proficiency in utilizing a wide range of specialized tools, equipment, and materials essential to the trade, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Skilled in accurately maintaining detailed narrative and statistical records that document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, facilitating effective tracking of equipment performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 360.
Additional Considerations
Proven ability to lead and supervise teams effectively, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines. Skilled in interpreting blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings to accurately plan and execute tasks. Experienced in implementing and managing preventive maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime. Educational background includes completion of vocational or technical school, apprenticeship programs, and extensive on-the-job training in various trade activities. Possess versatile experience across multiple trades, demonstrating adaptability and a broad skill set.
