Responsibilities:
- Lead cable team members; provide guidance in accordance with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
- Utilize and calibrate network cabling test equipment, overseeing testing procedures.
- Design, implement, and manage complex telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Supervise cable dressing, termination, and testing processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee the safe and efficient use of power tools and ladders, conducting regular safety inspections and providing training as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cabling infrastructure.
- Proactively identify and address potential areas of improvement in voice and data communications systems.
- Manage the abandoned cable removal and enforce strict adherence to cable management standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, contractors, and management, provide updates, and resolve issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer support in high-pressure environments, demonstrating professionalism and expertise in all interactions.
- Conduct thorough problem analysis and implement effective solutions, minimizing disruptions to operations.
- Uphold high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Required Experience :
- 3+ years of related telecommunications experience
- 3+ years of experience working as a Cable Technician within the DOD environment
Education :
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
Certification Requirements :
- Related certifications for Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation
Clearance :
- Active Secret
