Job Description
Position and fasten together truck subassemblies including frames, axles, powertrains, cabs, electrical components, hydraulic systems and air systems.
- Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fastens together parts to form subassemblies, such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, steering columns, and axle units.
- Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as engine, transmission, and axle units; pumps; wire harnesses; instrument control panels; and exhaust, brake, and air-conditioning systems.
- Performing any combination of following repetitive tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, and production
- Rotate through multiple stations on a shift.
- Work from shop orders, specifications, prints and work instructions.
- Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
- Review material and product requirements.
- Verify quality of own work by performing industry approved quality assurance tests at all levels.
- Understanding, proficiency, and safe use of overhead cranes and rigging techniques.
- Understanding safety and environmental compliance of the department. Actively participates in safety improvement activities.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities within the departments.
