The Estimator/ Chief Estimator Duties/Responsibilities: Create, manage & analyze bid estimates from start to finish. Procure & review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine accurate cost estimates. Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities for cost savings. Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients. Develop vendor & subcontractor solicitation strategies, analyze subcontractor bids and perform preliminary negotiations to ensure competitive pricing. Conduct post-project analysis to evaluate the accuracy of estimates and identify areas for improvement. Candidates should have proven experience as an Estimator with knowledge and focus on site civil construction. Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices and techniques. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent detail orientation and a keen sense of urgency. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from subcontractors and suppliers. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating costs. Shall be organized, self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure to execute multiple estimates simultaneously. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of civil construction estimating and field experience, in heavy civil projects Experience in highway, bridges or road is preferred Education: A Professional Engineering License and Registration in NY is preferred. Driver's License: Must have valid driver's license, good driving record required.
