Junior Geotechnical Engineer in Lexington,KY,US

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will support geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and foundation design under the supervision of senior engineers. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in geotechnical engineering with exposure to both fieldwork and analytical design. Key Responsibilities: Assist in conducting geotechnical site investigations, including soil sampling and in-situ testing Perform soil classification and laboratory testing Analyze data to support foundation design, slope stability, and earthwork recommendations Prepare geotechnical reports, logs, and technical documentation Support construction monitoring for foundation, retaining wall, and earthwork projects Collaborate with civil and structural engineers on multidisciplinary projects Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering , Geotechnical Engineering , or a related field 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience preferred) Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, PLAXIS, Slope/W) is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to travel to job sites and perform fieldwork EIT certification or willingness to obtain it is preferred Preferred Skills: Knowledge of ASTM soil testing procedures Experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D Ability to work independently and as part of a team
