- Represent clients as the day-to-day Project Manager on a diverse range of projects.
- Set project and design budgets, report costs, and negotiate agreements with management, subcontractors, and clients to achieve financial targets and goals.
- Manage and control all aspects of projects to achieve goals, managing schedule, budget, and quality objectives through formal project management processes, techniques, and procedures.
- Communicate with clients, project team members, and external authorities regarding projects.
- Contribute to resource management, including forecasting resource levels to balance needs for milestone deliverables and freeing resources when not needed.
- Engage in stakeholder management, including effective development of relationships and record-keeping of communications.
- Support business development activities, including developing client relationships and preparation of proposals.
- Support the development of new service offerings.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- P. Eng or PMP Certification required
- 2-4 years of project management experience taking projects from conception to completion.
- Construction or Engineering Experience in Utilities, Telecom, or Renewable Energy.
- Stakeholder communication and management experience, including dealing with municipalities, utilities, public offices for permits, clients, and contractors.
- Experience in scheduling, budgeting, and problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate and build rapport with approval agencies.
- Experience working with Ontario Utilities at a Distribution level.
- Understanding the process of distribution and design in utility projects.
- Ability to coordinate and resolve conflicts with existing utilities.
- Understanding of managing wet and dry utilities.
- Ability to address the need for street lighting and trenching.
- Skill in clearing utility conflicts.
The position requires working on-site four days a week at the office with occasional travel required. Core hours are flexible, but consistency is expected. The role involves receiving work files, building estimates and proposals, and consistent meetings with clients.
