Location:** Platypus Marine, Inc. -- Port Angeles, WA

**Job Type:** Full-Time

**Position Overview:** Platypus Marine, Inc. is seeking a **Marine Carpenter** to construct, repair, and install wooden components on a variety of vessels. This role involves working with both hand and power tools, reading technical drawings, selecting and shaping materials, and applying finishes. You will collaborate with a team of professionals in a dynamic shipyard environment, ensuring high-quality craftmanship while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Construct, repair, and install wooden structures, cabinetry, and interior/exterior trim on vessels.

- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to execute precise work.

- Select appropriate materials, adhesives, and fasteners for marine applications.

- Utilize planers, saws, routers, and other woodworking tools safely and effectively.

- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, including shipyard and confined-space protocols.

- Work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.

- Communicate effectively with team members, clients and subcontractors to meet project deadlines.

- Be flexible with working hours, including potential overtime, to support project timelines.

**Qualifications:**

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Marine Carpenter or in a related field.

- Strong repair skills and proficiency in woodworking tools and techniques.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and marine safety standards.

- Comfortable working in confined spaces and adjusting to varying environmental conditions.
