HVAC TECHNICIAN**

This is a full-time, year-round position within the Facilities & Safety Department, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. As an HVAC Technician, you'll utilize your expertise installing, servicing, and maintaining a variety of HVAC systems in commercial settings, as well as working on refrigeration equipment such as fridges, freezers, and ice machines. A key focus will be on ensuring customer satisfaction, safety, and comfort. The ideal candidate will be patient, organized, and skilled at problem solving. Additionally, you'll assist with general building and grounds maintenance tasks as needed. The position requires a 40-hour work week, Monday through Thursday, with occasional schedule adjustments depending on campus needs. The standard hours for this position will be Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. After-hours and overtime may be necessary.

**WORKING CONDITIONS:**

Duties are performed on campus and off-site as needed. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment is a must. Working conditions are as follows:

*Working indoors and outdoors is required. When working outdoors, you will be subject to inclement weather. The work will be strenuous at times and will include lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders and stairs, operating lift equipment, maneuvering in tight and awkward spaces, and standing, bending, sitting, reaching, crouching, stooping, and kneeling for long periods of time. Risks include injury from falls, burns, electrical hazards, cuts, and exposure to inclement weather. Workers must follow strict safety procedures to avoid injuries.*

This is a non-exempt, full-time, regular position.

**WAGE RANGE: **$33 - $38 Per Hour

The job posting includes the expected hiring wage range while the full wage scale for this position can be calculated by starting with the hiring range and increasing the wage three percent annually over the duration of employment. Increase in wages depends on approval of an annual budget and is not guaranteed.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

Five (5) years of experience as an HVAC technician in installation and service work.

06A Electrical License.

EPA Universal Certification.

Documented experience installing and servicing various HVAC equipment such as: boilers, heat pumps, cooling towers, chillers, roof top package units, mini splits, water source geothermal heat pumps, ERV, VRF, and DDC controls.

Excellent written verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient in operating a computer and using technology.
