Position Overview:

The Roofing Superintendent oversees and manages all aspects of roofing installation projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. This role involves supervising crews, coordinating with project managers, and maintaining strong client relationships. The Superintendent plays a crucial role in delivering projects on time and within budget for a commercial roofing subcontractor specializing in new construction and re-roofing.

Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee day-to-day roofing installation activities on assigned projects. Manage labor, materials, and schedules to ensure timely completion. Ensure all project documentation and schedules are up-to-date and communicated effectively to the team.
• Team Supervision and Training: Supervise roofing crew members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. Ensure that crew members follow company policies, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Conduct training and development sessions to enhance skills, safety awareness, and compliance.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, including OSHA standards and company-specific safety policies. Conduct daily safety briefings and regular inspections to maintain a hazard-free work environment. Investigate and report any incidents or accidents promptly.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain high-quality standards throughout the roofing installation process. Conduct site inspections to verify the quality of work and adherence to project specifications. Resolve any quality issues quickly to avoid rework or delays.
• Client and Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, ensuring open communication and satisfaction. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage materials and equipment needs on-site. Address any concerns or changes in scope with the client and project management team.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, material usage, and progress reports. Report project status, progress, and any issues to the Project Manager. Assist in tracking project budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in commercial roofing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge: Proficient in commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
• Licenses/Certifications: OSHA 30 Certification is preferred, along with any relevant roofing or construction certifications.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work in various weather conditions.
