Job Description
TIG Welder** **Job Description** The role involves selecting equipment, planning layout, assembling, fitting-up, and welding in accordance with standard specifications. You will be responsible for laying out, positioning, aligning, and fitting components together, and performing welding operations in accordance with Weld Maps, drawings, or other customer requirements. Setting up equipment and welding parts using GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes per WPS or other applicable standards are essential aspects of this position. **Responsibilities** + Select equipment and plan layout for welding operations. + Assemble, fit-up, and weld in accordance with standard specifications. + Lay out, position, align, and fit components together. + Perform welding operations in accordance with Weld Maps, drawings, or other customer requirements. + Set up equipment and weld parts using GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in using micrometers, rulers, and tape measures. + Experience in TIG welding and fabrication. + Ability to work with titanium, stainless steel, and MIG welding. + Understanding of blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + TIG welding experience preferred. + Experience with running an auto welder would be advantageous. + ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) certification preferred. + API (American Petroleum Institute) certification preferred. + Detail-oriented with the ability to record quantitative and qualitative data. **Work Environment** This position is in an AC-controlled machine shop consisting of assemblers, welders, machinists, and a distribution warehouse. **The opening is for the second shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.** **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
