MIG Welder Job Description Utilize MIG welding techniques to weld trailer components, employing processes such as gas metal arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc. Safely operate and manage welding gear and equipment. Examine workpieces for defects, blemishes, and quality; report concerns to the supervisor and perform repairs as needed. Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels to lay out, position, align, and secure parts before assembly. Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials. Sign off on completed work orders and quality of work. Maintain, organize, and clean workstation and equipment. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on trailer components using various welding techniques. Operate welding gear and equipment safely. Inspect workpieces for defects and report any issues to the supervisor. Use tools to measure, align, and secure parts before assembly. Monitor welding processes to prevent material damage.
