Heat Treat Operator Job Description The heat treat process begins after the screws are manufactured in the manufacturing building. Once produced, the screws are transported to the heat treat building for processing. The candidate will operate a heat treat furnace and use a forklift to load screws into the furnace. The position requires standing for a minimum of 8 hours a day. Responsibilities Operate a heat treat furnace to process screws. Use a forklift to load screws into the furnace. Ensure safety and efficiency during the heat treating process. Collaborate with other heat treat operators. Essential Skills Mechanical aptitude Ability to stand for extended periods Experience with machine operation Prior experience in heat treating or similar fields Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in racking, construction, stamping press, or oil change is beneficial. Experience in pipes, HVAC, or plumbing could be transferable to heat treating. Why Work Here? Work Environment The candidate will work in a state-of-the-art heat treat facility. This role requires standing for 12 hours straight on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) alongside other heat treat operators. The facility is expanding, with new temperature-controlled racking rooms under construction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, Massachusetts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
