Layout Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled Layout Welder with hands-on experience in fabrication and welding. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety and demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented attitude. Responsibilities Conduct production MIG welding on load bars, sensor brackets, handrails, and safety fencing. Interpret and work with production blueprints, laying out materials for welding. Utilize saws to cut material to length as needed. Assist with grinding, sanding, and drilling tasks. Essential Skills Fabrication and welding experience. Proficiency in operating equipment such as Iron Worker, Drill Press, and Grinding tools. Experience in structural welding and sheet metal fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 1+ year of experience fabricating in a manufacturing setting. MIG welding experience. Tech school degree in a related field is acceptable. Why Work Here? Work Environment Join a growing fabrication shop that specializes in custom laundry automation equipment. The facility is newly relocated near TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota and has expanded from 50 to 110 employees over the past three years. With a diverse team ranging from Software Engineers to Installers, the shop fabricates, installs, and maintains customer needs. You will work in 13 welding bays primarily using MIG wire-feed welding. The role involves moving around various areas and utilizing a variety of equipment, though focusing increasingly on welding tasks. The shop operates on a 1st shift schedule from 5am to 3:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
