Basic Job Functions:

C.H.I. Overhead Doors is looking for qualified candidates for the role of Equipment Engineer. The responsibilities include providing technical support for maintenance and operations, designing and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical components and systems, performing mechanical load ratings of various systems, designing and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems, managing capital projects, and assisting with the setup of preventative and predictive maintenance programs by applying engineering principles and practices and demonstrating project management leadership.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing new systems and modifying existing equipment.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD & Inventor to create concept drawings, production drawings, fluid power schematics, and plant layouts.
  • Improving production and maintenance processes and maintaining accurate documentation for all activities.
  • Providing technical expertise regarding mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, operations, engineering, and IT to optimize plant performance.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects from conception through completion.
  • Performing other projects as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager.
  • Safety: Uphold and promote safety policies, practices, and procedures at all times.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science degree (preferably in Engineering)
  • 1 year experience in manufacturing.
  • 1 year experience using AutoCAD and Inventor.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology/Engineering Applied Sciences.
  • 3+ year's experience in heavy industrial plant engineering, with design and/or construction experience and proven project management techniques. Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and construction practices.
  • Excellent verbal and/or written communication skills with all levels of personnel within the Company and outside vendors and suppliers.
  • Proven ability with Microsoft Office, Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to organize large projects and take the lead role of the projects design, procurement, construction, and start-up activities.
