Assistant Project Manager

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

ECI has an opening for an assistant project manager in Tucson, AZ. This position requires a basic understanding of contracts, change orders, invoicing, project work scopes, purchase orders and general engineering documents (Company specific On-The-Job-Training for these items will be provided). The successful applicant will provide assistance and technical support to multiple project managers and other office staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supporting the project manager/team to ensure monthly invoicing is done correctly, completely, and on time.
• Performing administrative tasks such as creating meeting agendas, taking meeting minutes, and distributing them to both the client and internal engineering staff.
• Creating monthly reports on project progress and submitting them to the project manager and clients as necessary.
• Communicating with stakeholders, employees, and clients
• Overseeing budget, project spending, and schedule updates.
• Tracking RFI's, QC sheets, and client deliverables.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma plus 2 years training beyond high school and 5+ years direct work experience in the engineering industry or a bachelors degree in Business or related field (preferred) and 5+ years direct work experience in the engineering industry; excellent organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access), Vantagepoint ERP software knowledge a bonus; occasional travel may be required, therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements .
