Maintenance Mechanic

The Warehouse Maintenance Mechanic I worker is responsible for maintenance tasks and a wide variety of general maintenance duties for the distribution center facilities. Responsibilities include operating equipment in a safe manner, maintaining a safe and clean working area and ensuring that the location is functioning within company and OSHA standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists Maintenance Mechanic II and III in any equipment repair (e.g. forklifts, conveyors, pallet racking, metal fabrication, minor electrical wiring, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting).
• Performs light carpentry work such as building shelving, racks and repairing work benches. Performs light plumbing repair such as faucets, clear clogged drains and cleaning sumps/drains. Performs light electrical replacement work such as changing light bulbs and resetting circuit breakers.
• Assists in the maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs for the internal distribution center facilities.
• Drives power sweeper and scrubber to maintain floors and aisles.
• Drives fork truck to move pallets into and out of building.
• Performs janitorial work such as spill clean-up, window washing, restroom maintenance, trash handling and other housekeeping duties.
• Fills out necessary paperwork such as purchase requisitions for supplies, inspection reports and any assigned work orders.
• Maintains janitorial supply inventories.

Basic Qualifications:

• Able to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time.
• Able to individually lift and maneuver 35 lbs frequently and repetitively (up to a maximum of 75 lbs; with or without reasonable accommodation).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift certification
