What you'll be doing

The Safety Manager is responsible for assisting with developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role helps lead the company's safety initiatives, conducts training, manages incident investigations, and fosters a culture of safety throughout the organization.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across all instructed company facilities and job sites in parallel with safety peers.
  • Approximately 40% travel
  • Lead accident and incident investigations; prepare reports, recommend corrective actions, and follow to closure
  • Support design and delivery of safety training programs for employees and management.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
  • Manage workers' compensation and claims process in collaboration with HR/legal
  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors and managers on safety issues.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging safety technologies.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.

What skills and experience you'll bring to us

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety management or related roles.
  • Waste Management/EPA/Regulatory Compliance experience
  • Multiple facility responsibility and ability to drive change
  • LMS administration and LMS module creation
  • Power Point, Excel, KPI driven portals
  • Tier II reporting and Above Ground Storage Tanks including fuel
  • ESG data upkeep
  • ISN/Avetta oversight experience
  • Job pre-qualification surveys and jobsite specific safety plans
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or OSHA Outreach Trainer preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop actionable safety strategies.
  • Proficiency with safety management software and MS Office Suite.
