Perform a variety of operations including layout, set up, machine operation, and inspection for a variety of materials and products.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:
- Determine machining operations to be performed from complex blueprints, sketches, instructions and standards.
- Plan sequence of operations, machines and equipment to use, method of holding and aligning work, and machine settings.
- Set up and operates machines and equipment such as drill presses, saws, mills, punch or clamping presses, welders, guillotines, etc. to make products to specific tolerances.
- Use hand tools as required for assembly, grinding, etc.
- Maintain and services equipment as required.
- Inspect products using precision and non-precision measuring devices.
- Use cold bonding agents to glue rubber to steel or rubber to rubber to make special part This may also include the Hand Lay Technician/Cross Trained certification to be able to perform or assist in the production process associated with workload and scheduling requirements at any given time.
- Complete simple repairs to products being worked on.
- Perform other related work when necessary.
- Use fork trucks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly.
- Report problems to supervision.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the ability to read, write, and follow written instructions, ability to read and understand blueprints and measuring instruments, ability to lift and move heavy products and tooling regularly, knowledge of machining principles and applications, and knowledge of machine safety and operating procedures.
EVALUATION: This may mean a passing requirement, to perform different duties as described above, including the Hand Lay Technician/Cross Trained certification.
Starting hourly rate is $22.00 + 8% shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions.
