Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction (Wastewater) - 100% company owned Location: Kansas City, MO Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex heavy civil construction projects with a focus on wastewater infrastructure. This role requires full ownership of project execution from start to finish, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and client satisfaction through effective leadership and strategic management. What You Will Do Drive Project Execution: Take full accountability for planning, scheduling, and executing multi-million-dollar wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Financial Leadership: Manage all aspects of project financials, including cost control, forecasting Work In Progress (WIP), and ensuring profitability through proactive budget monitoring and adjustment. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage supervisory personnel and construction teams on-site, fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle. Procurement & Contract Management: Oversee negotiations and purchasing of materials and services, as well as contract administration, ensuring compliance and maximizing value. Safety & Quality Oversight: Establish and enforce rigorous job site safety standards and quality controls, driving continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. Resource & Labor Management: Forecast and manage labor needs, coordinate subcontractors, and optimize workforce deployment to align with project schedules and demands. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks early, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues swiftly to minimize impacts on schedule, cost, and quality. Reporting & Communication: Provide timely and accurate updates to senior leadership and clients, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. 7 to 10+ years of progressive experience managing heavy civil construction projects, specifically wastewater infrastructure. Demonstrated success leading large, complex projects with significant budgets and multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and quality standards. PMP certification is a plus.
