As an operator/operator's assistant in the machine shop, you will have various responsibilities including: Responsibilities Metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts according to blueprint and instruction specifications. Staging parts using forklifts and pallet jacks, Setting up and operating CNC machines, deburring parts Conduct quality checks using gauges, rules, calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other inspection equipment. Perform troubleshooting to solve everyday problems Perform general duties around the machine shop. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work with various machines and tasks within a large machine shop environment. Essential Skills Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably around machines. Experience running a machine in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for CNC machines. Proficiency in using quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial bores, and steel rulers. Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Strong math skills for measuring and verifying part specifications. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience performing quality inspections on finished parts. Deburring experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
