Maintenance Planner-Supervisor

PCA Tomahawk Mill is seeking a Maintenance Planner-Supervisor that will focus on #4 Paper Machine.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Screen work requests with aid from operating department to cull duplicate work orders & unnecessary work orders.
  • Prioritize work orders with aid from operating department.
  • Establish personnel and material requirements for maintenance work orders.
  • Assemble work instruction packages which accompany each work order, send to work crews for implementation.
  • Develop Gantt charts itemizing workflow for shutdown work on major equipment and during major outages.
  • Assist in the establishment of all daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules with involvement from operating department and maintenance supervisor.
  • Provide necessary communication between operating departments and the maintenance supervisor to accomplish desired objectives.
  • Support and maintain effective line of communication with operating departments and engineering.
  • Communicate costs associated with each maintenance task to operating and maintenance depts. as applicable.
  • Work with salaried and hourly employees to develop and implement programs which are beneficial to the Company.
  • Support and maintain maintenance goals and aid department employees to accomplish these goals.
  • Maintain discipline in department.
  • Participate in hiring process of hourly and salaried personnel.
  • Be an advocate for new and ongoing company initiatives.
  • Assist in training of hourly and salaried personnel in leadership and planning skills.
  • Provide information to maintenance dept. for decision-making purposes.
  • Work with mill personnel on new equipment installations and existing equipment modifications.
  • Develop spare parts requirements to maintain mill reliability.
  • Provide round the clock maintenance support, as necessary.
  • Oversee contractor maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ experience in industry
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, when necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude with additional electrical skills a plus.
  • Must be proficient in organization and communication skills.
  • Must perform consistently and effectively under pressure.
  • Motivated with excellent people skills.
  • Capable of working well under time constraints as well as possess the ability to multi-task.
