This non-exempt/hourly position is responsible for performing lead-worker duties related to the daily operations, maintenance, construction, and preparation of the assigned division, Streets, to ensure essential services are provided to maintain the public infrastructure to provide for public safety, health, and welfare. This position is vital to the repair and maintenance of all town-maintained roads, recreation paths, sidewalks, and rights-of-ways. The Streets Lead performs as a hands-on working member of the Streets team, guiding in daily maintenance and repair activities.

Streets Lead full wage range = $29.94 - $44.91 Job Responsibilities:
- Schedules daily work assignments and prioritizes assignments as needed to ensure timely completion and quality of work
- Leads and trains new employees and coordinates cross-training opportunities; coaches and mentors' staff to meet goals and maintain motivation
- Ensures all team and individual activities are carried out in a safe manner
- Adheres to all safety regulations
- Ensures all regulations pertaining to the safe use of equipment are understood and followed by all team members
- Assists with proper set up of work site traffic control
- Assists to ensure safe control and direction of traffic
- Responds to initial customer service inquires and provides appropriate follow-up, referral, and/or resolution
- Conducts various analyses and inspections of assigned assets to determine the most cost-effective means of maintenance, repair or replacement for streets, sidewalks, pathways, drainage, and signage
- Works with Streets and Grounds Manager to manage streets programs such as condition assessment, asphalt maintenance, concrete repairs, snow plowing/removal, and drainage improvements
- Manages and administers right-of-way and excavation permits
- Operates a variety of equipment to include loader, backhoe, and motor grader relevant to streets repair and maintenance including small equipment and handhelds
- Must be proficient in the operation of all pieces of equipment relevant to snow removal operations
- Performs basic maintenance services on all equipment or vehicles operated
- Coordinates projects with other Town divisions, departments, and contractors.
- Works closely with other town directors, managers, supervisors and planners on various special projects and needs. Projects may also include loaning and borrowing equipment between divisions
- Provides construction management for assigned projects
- Assists with divisions budget preparation and administers expenses for assigned work programs
- Carries a cell phone for response to after-hour emergency calls on a rotating basis with streets operators to assist customers as assigned by Streets and Grounds Manager
- Makes recommendations for hiring, promotions, transfers, annual reviews, disciplinary action, and other personnel actions, as necessary
- Responsible for reviewing and approving timesheets submitted by employees, verifying the accuracy of time entries, and addressing any discrepancies or concerns
- Assists with necessary recordkeeping, purchasing and monitoring inventory of equipment and supplies
- Other duties as assigned

- Must have valid Colorado drivers license with an acceptable driving record and a (CDL) Class B is required
Previous Work Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of heavy equipment training or equivalent
- Two years of streets maintenance preferred
Previous Supervisory Exercised:
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred
Language Ability:
- Required: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Decision Making Ability:
- Required: Ability to function independently and make sound and reasonable decisions in the absence of supervisory guidance.
