There are three levels to the Streets Operator position, Level One, Two and Three. If offered a position with the Town of Frisco, the offer will be made based on the interview and relevant experience. Please review below.
Streets Maintenance Operator full wage
range = $22.49 - $40.827 (this wage range represents the minimum of Level I to the maximum of Level III)
ResponsibilitiesGeneral Responsibilities
- Operates Town equipment as directed by supervisor. This may include, but is not limited to motor grader, dump truck, wheel loader, skid steer loader, street sweeper, municipal tractor, backhoe, and other related heavy equipment.
- May handle basic maintenance of equipment.
- Performs street, bike path and storm sewer and sign maintenance.
- During the winter, this position is responsible for snow removal on all Town owned streets, sidewalks, and parking areas.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Assists in constructing and erecting traffic and information signage. Performs a variety of skilled duties in designing, fabricating, and maintaining traffic signs with the use of signage software.
- Provides traffic control at work sites by proper signage installation and flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials, and equipment.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
- Provides preventative equipment maintenance inspections such as pre/post trips, checking fluids, etc. Reports any problems in a timely manner to the Fleet Supervisor and Vehicle Technicians.
- Assist in providing direction to seasonal employees.
- Performs multiple duties as it pertains to Town sponsored special events such as set-up, tear down, trash & street sweeping.

Responsibilities
- Operates light, medium, and heavy* duty equipment in the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of streets, storm drainage, snow removal operations, and cemetery systems.
* Must have CDL
- Operates all equipment in the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of streets, storm drainage, snow removal operations, and cemetery systems.
- Performs traffic control operations to include concrete and asphalt surfaces, and road striping.
- Operates all equipment in the construction, repair, maintenance, and replacement of streets, storm drainage, snow removal operations, and cemetery systems.
- Performs traffic control operations to include concrete and asphalt surfaces and road striping.
- Both independently and collaboratively in a team setting, completes construction of street maintenance and other streets projects to include pavement repair, signage design, drainage structures, guardrail installation, and sweeping.
- Design and construct temporary traffic control plans.
- Assist with operational readiness training and planning to meet the Town of Frisco service level requirements.
- Assists in ensuring compliance with State and Federal transportation guidelines.
- Performs preventive maintenance and identifies municipal infrastructure failures.
- In absence of Manager or Lead Operator, assists and mentors Streets staff on daily projects, prioritizing work, construction projects, and manages special projects.

Computer Operations:
- Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, and other basic computer operations.

- Required: Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Required: 2+ years of experience with UKG, NeoGov or other like timekeeping and performance evaluation systems
- Preferred: Basic understanding of GIS applications and ability to enter data into asset management software applications
Licenses, Certifications or Accreditations:
- Required: CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of hire provided by the Town)
- Required: Valid Drivers License
- Required: Colorado CDL Class B license with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6-months from hire (or ability to transfer out of state CDL within one month of hire

- Preferred: Other/alternative certifications that are in direct relation to road and street maintenance and deemed acceptable upon approval from Public Works management
Previous Work Experience:
- Required: Less than 2 years of streets/construction maintenance experience
- Required: 2+ years of streets/construction maintenance experience
- Required: 5+ years of streets/construction maintenance experience
- Required: 3+ years of snowplow removal experience requiring a CDL.
- Required: 2+ years of temporary traffic control experience.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, nights, special events, and on-call. Typical Summer schedule is Monday Friday, 7:00am 3:30pm. Winter schedule varies. Winter Typical work hours are 6:00am 2:30pm or 2:30pm 10:00pm unless in the event snow, work hours are 2:00am.

Must be capable of operating a variety of equipment, hand & power tools normally found in Public Works operations. Must be capable of safely maneuvering all vehicles and equipment. Must have the ability to work at heights 0-50 feet above ground.
