Job Description We are seeking a Naval Architect/Structural Engineer to contribute to a critical program supporting NOAA Fleet Recapitalization Efforts. This role involves assisting program managers with day-to-day activities related to ship acquisitions. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2-3 days onsite. Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary ship design studies.
- Conduct analyses on ship structures and perform trade-off studies.
- Estimate costs of design changes.
- Review and modify drawings.
- Conduct ship checks and oversee construction.
- 8 years of experience in Naval Architecture.
- Proficiency in assessing vessel designs to meet regulatory rules for stability and design.
- Experience with AutoCAD and related software.
- Strong technical and specification review and writing skills.
- Ability to review and modify engineering drawings.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Naval Architecture or related engineering disciplines.
- Proficiency in FEMAP, MAESTRO, ANSYS.
- Experience with cost estimation.
- Knowledge of production techniques for steel ships.
- Experience with Shipconstructor.
