We are currently hiring a Planner / Scheduler for a field assignment in Cary, NC, supporting both our internal Project and Construction Management (PM/CM) teams and our external Life Sciences and Bio/Pharma clients.
As a key member of our program support team, you will collaborate closely with engineering and construction professionals to identify, understand, and communicate schedule-related issues and potential conflictsensuring project timelines remain on track.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Developing a fully integrated EPCM schedule from the ground up using Critical Path Methodology (CPM), based solely on project documentation such as the Scope of Work, P&IDs, General Arrangement drawings, and results from the Integrated Assessment Process (IAP).
Applying EPCM project principles to establish logical schedule sequencing and accurate activity durations across Engineering, Procurement, and Construction disciplines.
Maintaining the integrity of schedule data during updates to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Supporting the look-ahead planning process, including forecasting upcoming activities and resource allocation.
Participating in client-facing schedule reviews, providing support to Jacobs Project Management and Construction Management teams.
Ensuring alignment between the project schedule and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics, applying EVM principles throughout the project lifecycle.

Minimum of 5 years of planning and scheduling experience on EPCM projects.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Primavera (P6) scheduling software.
Strong understanding of building construction practices, timelines, and methodologies.
Proficiency in Primavera (P6) for schedule development and analysis.
Ability to create, update, and analyze CPM schedules, including identifying workarounds and proposing schedule improvements.
Effective communication of schedule status through both formal reports and informal meetings.
Experience in coordinating earned value systems with schedule updates.
Solid knowledge of industry principles, theories, concepts, and standards.
Practical experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
Ideally, Youll Also Have
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with management, team members, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
Experience collaborating with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction functions.
Familiarity with systems-based scheduling to support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) efforts.
Knowledge of cost tracking and forecasting tools and practices.
