HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
LOCATION: 3000 Arctic Boulevard
Starting pay does not exceed the midpoint of the displayed pay range.

Under the general direction of the Capital Program Manager. This position is responsible for supervising, work planning, prioritizing, assigning, reviewing, and technical direction of Project Management Section staff. Manages all design through construction phases of AWWU capital improvement projects including construction negotiations and making recommendations on disposition of claims. Strong background in civil design and construction management desired. Ability to function under limited supervision and able to manage multiple projects and tasks. Perform other required duties as assigned.
Participate in major emergencies or disasters as outlined in AWWU's disaster plan matrix, which defines each employee's potential duties and responsibilities. This may include 12-hour work shifts, which may continue for 72 hours or more starting at any time an event might occur, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
OR
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible engineering experience, three (3) of which relate directly to the responsibilities of environmental health.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering may substitute for the experience on a year for year basis.
OR
Master's degree in Sanitary Engineering or a clearly related area of study may be substituted for one (1) of the three (3) years of specialized experience in environmental health.
Must possess and/or obtain:
- Satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history at time of hire.
- Valid State of Alaska Driver's License and satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
- Valid State of Alaska Professional Engineer certification.
Preference:
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the applicant's Alaska Driver's License, and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states, if the Alaska Driver's License was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history. Military Service Interview Preference

The statement of service must be on a form or letterhead of the individual's command organization, and shows the name, signature, title, and contact information of the signer providing the statement of service.
