Job Summary
Operate CNC machines for machining components by loading and unloading various castings or cut stock. Ensure all operations meet print specifications and customer requirements in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or trade school preferred
GED accepted
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Trade School Certification (Preferred)
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC machinery
Skills
Blueprint reading
Proficient in using measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, indicators
Understanding of drill, reamer, and boring bar usage
Knowledge
Understanding of appropriate speeds and feeds for various materials
Abilities
Strong communication skills with both shop personnel and management
Physical Demands
Body Positions:
Standing, bending over tables for part handling
Body Movements:
Frequent opening and closing of machine doors
Body Senses:
Must listen for machine/tool malfunctions
Non-allergic to cutting fluids
Mental Requirements
Math:
Solid machine shop math, including trigonometry
Language:
Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Mechanical:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Spatial:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Operate CNC machines to produce quality parts
Read and interpret CNC programs accurately

Duties & Tasks
Load and unload parts at cycle completion
Assist with setup by handling tooling as per setup sheets
Acquire and inspect required tooling for upcoming jobs
Remove and inspect previous job tooling; tag for sharpening if needed
Measure and record part dimensions during machining cycle
Notify supervisor of any process issues
Deburr parts during machine idle times
Understand and utilize inspection procedures and equipment
Measures of Performance
Timeliness of setups
Scrap rate
Attendance and punctuality
Team collaboration
Communication effectiveness
Readiness of tools and fixtures
Completion and accuracy of daily logs
