Travel Scraper Operator Job Description The scraper operator will be responsible for cutting to grade, driving across the earth, and using the scraper to gather and relocate earth to manage fill. The aim is to level the terrain for the finish dozer operators to complete fine grading. The work schedule is from 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work depending on workload and weather. Days may extend to 14 hours if necessary. The operator must perform pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the machine and report any issues to management. Responsibilities Operate MTS 3630 Wheeled or Track Scrapers, MTS 745 with pan CAT 627 or CAT 637. Perform rough grading work, ensuring the terrain is leveled. Conduct pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of equipment. Report equipment concerns to management promptly. Maintain accountability for machine operation and inspections. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience operating scrapers on commercial job sites involving mass grading. Proficiency in scraper operation, heavy equipment, commercial construction, civil construction, grading, earthwork, and earthmoving. Ability to operate belly scraper, haul truck, utility tractor, SWIP, and paddle wheel. Additional Skills & Qualifications Valid driver's license required. Must submit to Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Capability to be insured to operate company vehicles. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
