This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: a more connected Fiber Splicer Icareer**At Pauley Construction, as a Fiber Splicer I, youll perform the dutiesas a fiber splicer as a part of the construction of telecommunicationsoutside plant to ensure scope of work performed is within standardsrequired by customer.**Connecting you to great benefits**- Weekly Paychecks- Paid Time Off, Parental Leave, and Holidays- Insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance)- 401(k) w/ Company Match- Stock Purchase Plan- Education Reimbursement- Legal Insurance- Discounts on gym memberships, pet insurance, and much more!**What youll do as a Fiber Splicer I**- You will, with guidance, splice overhead, underground or submarine multiple conductor cables.- You will, climb utility poles or towers, utilizes truck mounted lift-bucket or descends into underground vaults.- You will cut sheath from installed cable to gain access to defective cable connections.as well as cuts and peels sheath and insulation from newly installed cable and conductors- You will Test (traces or phase out) each conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cables, using test lamp or bell system.- You will read and interpret (i.e. mechanical, electrical, digital) drawings, maps, blueprints diagrams, etc.**What youll need**- To be 18 years of age or older- Authorization to work in the United States for this company- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.- May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.- May include working nights and holidays as needed.- May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.Additional qualifications- You will have 0-1 or more years experience as a fiber splicer with experience on outside plant or system installations while working from blueprints, specifications, and system documentation- You will have a high school diploma or equivalent- You are able to lift up to 80 lbs- Basic understanding of splicing principles or ability to learn- Basic experience with electrical work- Experience working from hand-holes and manholes- Must pass company drug testing- Must know the color code system for cable pairs- Ability to work in confined spaces- Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills- Ability to work with internal and external customers- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with product vendors and customers- Ability to work from oral or written instructions and plan work without direct supervision- Possesses proficient personal computer operations skills- Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements to maintain a successful safety record- Assume all duties as assigned**Pay Range:**The Fiber Splicer I hourly wage range is \$21.00 - \$24.00, depending on experience.**Why work with us**Pauley Construction is a regional contractor providing infrastructuresolutions for the installation and maintenance of utility systemsfurther offering regional contracting services throughout the WestUnited States, specializing in full turnkey services for the design,installation and maintenance of utility infrastructure.
