Pipe Layer/ Pipecrew Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dependable Utilities Pipe Layer to join our construction team in the Rincon, GA/Greater Savannah area. This is a full-time position reporting to the Site Supervisor or Foreman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, aligning, and joining various types of underground utility pipes, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and gas systems. This role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and utility maps. Excavate trenches to proper depth and grade using hand tools or heavy equipment. Lay and align pipes (PVC, ductile iron, concrete, etc.) according to specifications using appropriate methods such as gluing, welding, or mechanical fittings. Backfill trenches and compact soil to ensure pipe stability. Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently. Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols. Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and resolve issues such as misalignments or obstructions. Essential Skills Pipe installation and alignment Trenching and excavation Blueprint and plan reading Equipment operation Safety awareness Teamwork and communication Problem-solving and adaptability Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of experience in underground utility installation or related field Ability to operate excavator, trenchers, compactors, and other construction equipment is a bonus Strong understanding of pipe grades, slopes, and alignment techniques Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred OSHA 10 certification is a plus Why Work Here?
