Carpenter Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Boat Carpenter to join our marine team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on wooden and fiberglass vessels, including structural repairs, custom interior/exterior builds, decking, and cabinetry. This role involves both restoration and new construction work, requiring attention to detail and knowledge of marine construction standards. Key Responsibilities: Construct, repair, and install wooden structures and fixtures on boats and yachts. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Work with various materials including hardwoods, plywood, composite panels, fiberglass, and epoxy. Install bulkheads, cabinetry, decks, and flooring. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Conduct inspections and perform maintenance to ensure vessel integrity. Collaborate with other trades (electricians, mechanics, finishers) during refits or builds. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications: Proven experience as a marine or boat carpenter (3+ years preferred). Strong understanding of boat construction and marine carpentry techniques. Ability to work from plans or templates with precision. Familiarity with epoxy and fiberglass repair is a plus. Physical stamina and dexterity to work in tight spaces and various weather conditions. Ability to lift heavy materials and work on ladders or scaffolding. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or in a team. Preferred Qualifications: Boatbuilder or woodworking certification. Experience in high-end yacht interiors or traditional wooden boat restoration.
