Summary

Our Cary, NC is looking for a talented Architectural Designer with a strong design software skills and interest in a career serving the life sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to work with engineering design software / BIM (Revit, CAD) required
  • Build specialized design experience working with a team of experts in life sciences
  • Intermediate knowledge in applying practice based graphical standards to contract drawings.
  • Research building materials and construction detailing for correct applications.
  • Intermediate knowledge of technical applications of building materials.
  • Interacts with design team(s) and follows direction of Senior project team members.
  • Implements the development of presentations and construction documentation.
  • Intermediate understanding, interpretation and compliance of zoning and building codes and contract documentation coordination.
  • Ability to work with design teams on multiple projects at once and meets project deadlines.
  • Intermediate ability to coordinate work and building systems with engineering teams.
  • Successfully interacts with the design team and follows direction of senior architectural team members
  • Generate, coordinate, update, and maintain project architectural design drawings leveraging BIM
  • Visit client sites to obtain relevant information
  • Interact with material vendors to coordinate design work

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree from four-year College or University with 1-4 years of architectural design experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative
  • Desire to learn building design / life sciences facility architectural requirements
  • Takes ownership of assignments, can work both independently and as part of the team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Positive attitude, even when under pressure
  • Desire to learn about the R&D, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries
  • Autodesk Revit Experience
  • Life Sciences Facility Design Experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Deltek Vision or equivalent; Office 365
