Northwest Aerospace Technologies (NAT), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. The Assembly Mechanic 2 is responsible for building medium to high complexity assemblies. They are a Subject Matter Expert in specific work packages within the shop. They have experience supporting customer pickups and job completions post First Article or Prototype; Training other assembly mechanics in their area of expertise. Capable of Bonding and Fabrication of a majority of the furniture produced within the shop. Identify continuous improvement suggestions within the work center.
Assembly Mechanic II Responsibilities:
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot producibility challenges;
Build and Bond medium to high complexity furniture and interior major assemblies;
Experience in Boeing andor Airbus Process Specifications;
Proficient in processes within potting and bonding work center (Fill and fair, install insert and edge pot);
Possesses limited Subject Matter Expertise in furniture bonding and assembly:
o Support Fabrication of jigs and fixtures for accurate and repeatable execution of critical fit requirements for components.
o Pre-fit and bond, vacuum bond interior components of varying combinations of material type
o Forming and bonding of aluminum trim extrusions and sheets, honeycomb panel and other materials for completion of the sub-assemblies, parts or structures.
Exposure to interior component assembly, custom fabrication of parts, applying complex decor per finish requirements;
With minimal assistance perform complex repairs on components as required by the customer;
Experience with shop equipment drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, various tool grinders, Rivet gun and bucking bar, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner;
Experience in use of Chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, liquid nitrogen and special finishes;
Contribute to work center standard operating procedures;
Support continuous improvement activity;
Ability to consume electrical and structural part drawings;
Train other entry to mid-level assembly mechanic shop personnel;
Other duties as assigned

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Shall possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or GED
3 - 5+ years' experience in the consuming electrical and structural aerospaceequivalent part drawings
3 - 5+ years interpreting, authoring and executing assembly and component test requirements
Mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry
Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate well with others
Troubleshooting/problem solving
Detail oriented
Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure
Able to perform mathematic calculations
Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches, and other such documentation to produce a variety of prototype and production parts
Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences
Working Conditions:
Standard machine shop environment.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct on the manufacturing floor and to meet job responsibilities
