Our team in the US is growing. We are currently recruiting for a SeniorLead Civil Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in the Tucson or Denver office. This person will work on several ongoing projects from our Tucson or Denver offices. In this leadership role for Civil Engineering, you will be responsible for delivering civil engineering solutions across a broad range of mining and mineral processing projectscovering greenfield developments, brownfield expansions, and infrastructure upgrades. You will lead the civil design team, ensuring the successful execution of engineering deliverables from concept through detailed design and into construction support. This role plays a critical part in project delivery, interfacing with clients, managing multidisciplinary coordination, and driving quality, safety, and innovation across civil scopes.
About the Role
Lead the civil engineering design and delivery for mining and mineral processing projects including bulk earthworks, roadways, drainage systems, foundations, retaining structures, and site infrastructure.
Manage and oversee civil engineering teams, including internal designers, drafters, and external consultants, to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Prepare and review technical documents such as calculations, reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
Ensure civil engineering outputsply with applicable codes, standards, environmental guidelines, and client requirements.
Coordinate closely with structural, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical teams to integrate design efforts across disciplines.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, HAZIDs, and constructability workshops.
Support tendering processes, bid evaluations, and contractor engagement during execution phases.
Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior civil engineers and support talent development within the team.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices, tools, and workflows.
About You
Civil Engineering degree from a recognized engineering program
Licensed Engineer within the State of Arizona or Colorado is preferred
Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience (i.e. mining, energy or infrastructure)
Hydrology and hydraulics
Thorough understanding of the design process including the application of civil design software packages.
Previous design experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access and haul roads and earth structures for large size projects.
Ability to deal withpeting priorities and manage time appropriately.
Demonstrated leadership in project execution, multidisciplinary coordination, and client engagement.
Previous experience leading, mentoring and motivating junior civil engineers
Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal andmunication skills; will be self-motivated, quick to deliver on projects
Strong working knowledge of relevant civil codes and standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, or local equivalents).
Proficient in civil design software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, 12D, or similar platforms.
Proven experience with drainage design, grading, road alignments, platforms, and construction detailing in heavy industrial environments.
Excellent written and verbalmunication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
