Estimator

Structural Preservation Systems, LLC has opening for Estimator in Long Island City, NY. Estimates projects with low to moderate complexity, generally up to $5million. Defines and quantifies scope of work and prepares comprehensive conceptual, budgetary, and construction cost estimates for projects. Ensures pricing of materials and subcontracts are completed timely and accurately for assigned projects. Maintains involvement in change order process. Prepares estimates by calculating various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour and equipment costs and applying to complete scope of work. Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Reviews design options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials when necessary. Reviews/researches historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compiles summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates. Creates preliminary CPM schedules. Negotiates with and relays desired scope of work and deadlines to subcontractors and materials suppliers. Plans for safety within estimate buildup, addressing access, fall protection, costs, quantities of PPE, special training or certification requirements, etc. Develops basic/routine proposals - skills include: scope, clarifications and pricing development. Must have Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field, or foreign degree equivalent, and 36 months of experience as Construction manager, civil engineer, or related, including 36 months of experience estimating construction projects. 12 months experience with scheduling for construction projects. 12 months experience with CRM. 12 months experience with reading contract specifications, plans, and blueprints.
