HVAC Tech / Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Mechanic II will independently perform maintenance and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems. This role involves conducting rounds to ensure system stability, reporting and repairing issues, and participating in watch-stand responsibilities on a rotating shift basis. Responsibilities Conduct rounds as per department schedule to assess and document the performance and condition of plant equipment, including pumps, motors, equipment pressure levels, fuel levels, and temperature. Acquire detailed knowledge of mechanical systems locations and their components. Maintain the integrity of Life Safety systems by securing, disabling/enabling devices, testing, and responding to emergencies according to department and center protocols. Ensure the HVAC system is operational to provide a comfortable and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Essential Skills Facilities maintenance Plumbing Painting Preventive maintenance Electrical HVAC Repair Building maintenance Drywall General maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Using hand tools Lighting Facility maintenance Maintenance repair Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-5 years of general facilities experience in a large commercial facility 3-5 years of HVAC maintenance experience Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
