MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Mastercut Assistant Operator who is a problem-solver and excited by challenges and the opportunity to build something great with us. As a Mastercut Assistant Operator in the Die Cutting Department, you will be responsible for a wide variety of responsibilities pertaining to the set up and operation of the Mastercut 1.7.

What will you do in this role?

Read work instructions and assist operator in set up.

Check to make sure tooling has been staged for upcoming orders.

Properly store tooling after use and document impression counts and tonnage.

Follow quality inspection process according to customer specifications. Inspect loads coming off the Mastercut and tag non-conforming product.

Report any non-conforming product to Operator and Supervisor.

Rotate breaks with Mastercut operator and Mastercut Material Handler to keep consistent production throughout shift.

Perform housekeeping duties by keeping the area clean.

Make sure all empty pallets are stacked neatly and are where they need to be.

Reads Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). See to proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.

Assist in troubleshooting quality and production issues.

Respect and conform to all accepted safe work practices and standards.

Participate and adhere to lean practices as they pertain to department and equipment.

Help operator change over tooling to and from the Die Tool Rack and machine.

Keep dust cover, chase, platen and tooling rust free.

Retrieve customer samples and take them to the sample table.

Assist operator with TPMs (Total Preventative Maintenance).

Operate Forklift to keep machines stocked with pallets and products when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What does it take to be successful in this role?

Basic Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and operational procedures.

Problem-solving and analysis abilities involving concrete variables in standard situations.

Basic computer skills are necessary to read work instructions, record job data, and follow work schedules.

Effective time management skills.

Attention to detail.

Mechanical and technical aptitude.

Ability to work required overtime as needed.

Ability to interpret product layouts and production specifications.

Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and measurements with speed and accuracy.

Preferred Requirements

Paperboard folding carton industry experience preferred.

Mechanical background preferred.
