Design Engineer
Location: Lafayette, IN
Job Type: W2 Contract; 12 months (Potential to Extend)
Expected hours per week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4pm onsite
Pay Range: $35 - 40/hourly with optional benefits packages including PTO, holiday pay, medical insurance, and 401k options
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
The electric power application is nearly 60% of the C175 engines' build volume, and the build rate has steadily increased.
This position supports many aspects, including:
Reviewing engine orders for compatibility
Submitting shop changes
Creating and updating pricing arrangements
Coordinating resolution of issues in assembly
Problem-solving in the field to reduce warranty and defects
Typical Task Breakdown:
Lead Current Product Improvement requests
Resolve issues in the production assembly environment
Support Product Support organization on customer inquiries for Electric Power Applications
Process engine order changes to resolve issues or support customer requests
Primarily working in an office with some assembly line problem resolution support
Education & Experience Required:
4-year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering position in industry
Technical Skills:
Required:
Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Excel
Desired/Nice to Have:
Experience with Team Center and Microsoft Power BI
Knowledge and experience in CPPD, APQP, FMEA
Soft Skills:
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to react to customer urgency
High degree of initiative and personal accountability
