Welder

Spherion Canonsburg is looking for an experienced Welder to work a rotating shift in Donora. Starting pay depends on experience, but starting at $19/hr. This is a Temp to Hire position.

Use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

Responsibilities:

• Load and unload anilox rollers into the grinding machine safely
• Plan details of work order procedures
• Gather required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications
• Fabricate various items and equipment using cutting, burning and welding techniques and equipment
• Monitor the welding, burning and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective material
• Operate and use overhead cranes safely

Education: High School

Experience: 12 months

Physical:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Skills:

• Understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
• Understanding of metallurgy
• Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
• Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
• Basic understanding and reading of blueprints
• Ability to review and understand mechanical blueprints
