Traveling Site Superintendent
Job Description

The Traveling Site Superintendent will oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires extensive travel, often with extended overnight stays out of town.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily construction activities at various work sites, ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols.
  • Develop and implement site logistics plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, and consultants.
  • Conduct effective pre-construction meetings with subcontractors.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), Construction Change Directives (CCDs), Bulletins, and Addendums.
  • Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards and manage equipment and material deliveries.
  • Enforce safety standards and conduct on-site safety orientations to ensure an accident-free project.
  • Lead and manage site teams, including subcontractors and internal employees.
  • Assist in ensuring the finished project meets or exceeds quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain and update project schedules.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage construction budgets set by the Project Manager, track construction costs, and submit all invoices to Accounting in a timely manner.
  • Meet with inspectors and procure blueprints.
  • Oversee remodels, rebuilds, and ground-up construction projects.
  • Review subcontractor safety manuals to ensure compliance with the company's safety program.
  • Perform erosion control inspections as required.
  • Coordinate third-party testing agencies as required.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
  • Certifications including OSHA 30-Hour, Fall Protection Training, and other relevant safety certifications.
  • Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Autodesk software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction management, subcontractor management, and commercial construction.
  • Ability to read blueprints and manage safety and scheduling.
  • Experience in managing projects ranging from $7-$15M.
  • Exposure to a variety of project types including Commercial, Educational, Rec Centers, Fields, Retail, and Ground up.

The work environment involves extensive travel with projects that could be located in various locations including Tupper, NY. The role may require staying in flexible housing options such as Airbnb or hotels. The company provides a cell phone and vehicle allowance to support mobility and communication needs, as well as a daily per diem to cover travel-related expenses. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
