Position Title: Peener Operator
Main position objectives
Bead blasting is a mechanical process that uses blasting media to clean or roughen the surface of metal and provide a uniform finish.
Position description Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies
- Preparing and running the blasting equipment for optimal performance.
- Loading and unloading materials from blasting cabinet/booth.
- Must be able to hold a high-pressure hose for several hours.
- Fill hopper with glass bead blasting material.
- Identify and resolve issues with basting equipment.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminium, Steel & Stainless Steel.
- Computer skill for entering production.
- Ability to training others on how to use equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy items manually or using a hoist. (5 to 50lbs)
- Candidate must be a dedicated team player.
- Candidate must be reliable.
- Bead blasters must follow safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment such as respirators, gloves, steel-toes boots, eye and ear protection, helmets with an adequate air supply.
- Ability to pay careful attention to detail and work with others on a team.
- Must be willing to work in noisy and dusty environment.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to bend at waist, sit, kneel, laying horizontally, climb, standing for prolonged periods, and walk.
- Follow all company rules and policies.
Work Environment
Work in this position is in a factory floor environment. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE is required.
