Description:

Support emergent and planned Capital Design Changes in the Design Support Engineering team (e.g,. rapid response or EFIN), functioning as a Responsible Engineer and supporting Engineer. Scope of projects expected to include digital component and device replacements, instrumentation & control component replacements, and electrical engineering changes. The design support engineering team typically supports relatively small scope and short duration design changes (supports near term plant operational needs). Experience with industry standard digital design process and design related cyber security processes is required.

This role is responsible for providing engineering services, ensuring that systems are designed, implemented, and maintained according to safety, regulatory, and performance standards. The candidate must have prior nuclear design engineering experience and prior qualifications related to nuclear engineering changes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development: Lead the design and layout of systems and equipment used in nuclear power plants. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Project Leadership: Provide subject matter expertise for engineering projects from conception to completion, including feasibility studies, design reviews, and field support.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet nuclear industry safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Technical Documentation: Create, review, and update detailed design documents, specifications, and calculations for electrical systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers, to deliver integrated designs for nuclear plant projects.
Design Reviews & Improvements: Lead design reviews, assess potential risks, and recommend solutions or improvements. Review vendor designs and integration plans to ensure compatibility with overall project goals.

Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. ? 5 years discipline experience.
