Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanic A to join our team. In this role, you'll use your expertise in diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure our fleet of Diesel and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles remains safe, compliant, and road-ready.

Requirements & Qualifications to Get Job

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel and/or CNG vehicle maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Brake Safety Certification and 609 A/C Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of diagnostic software and computer systems; must be comfortable with technology.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with vendors.
  • 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to communicate verbally and via email in English
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to: eye & hearing protection, gloves, steel-toed boots, hard hat, and flame-retardant work clothes, etc.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, reach, and lift regularly.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to heights (ladders), tight spaces, and physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong visual acuity and mental focus required for diagnostics and repair work.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and heavy equipment as needed.
  • Regular use of computers and diagnostic tools.

Preferences to Get Job

  • ASE Certifications strongly preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B preferred, or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

What you do on Job

  • Diagnose/repair advanced systems on Diesel and CNG vehicles, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel, & propane systems.
  • Lead inspections of brakes, emissions, steering, engine components, wheel bearings, and other key systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Mentor and support B and C level mechanics, offering guidance and technical direction.
  • Prioritize and complete repairs efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Review equipment maintenance logs and schedule necessary repairs.
  • Conduct DOT and brake system inspections in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records including work orders, parts orders, and maintenance reports.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and GFL standards.
  • Read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving technologies and best practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other tasks as assigned by direct Supervisor
