Asst. Project Manager Structural Steel / Misc. Metals
Responsibilities include:
Manage project communications, including processing RFIs and routing them to appropriate stakeholders (contractors, engineers, detailers, etc.)
Organize and submit project submittals; maintain detailed tracking logs and follow up to ensure timely return of reviewed documents
Generate change orders based on design revisions, RFI responses, and additional detailing costs
Participate in weekly coordination meetings with contractors and effectively communicate project status and needs
Draft minor components using AutoCAD and assist in correcting corrupted NC1/DXF files as needed
Field contractor inquiries and relay technical questions to senior project team members
Review RFI responses for discrepancies against contract documents and initiate necessary change orders
Prepare and submit compliance submittals, including paint product data, welding procedure specifications (WPS), AISC certification, and other required documentation
Coordinate and manage procurement of buyout items such as aluminum ladders
Work closely with shop engineers and detailers to ensure revised drawings meet design requirements
Procurement of materials, products
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Strong general computer skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints (a plus)
