Project Overview

We are supporting a client who handles critical infrastructure initiatives focused on data center migration and shutdown efforts. This complex program involves transitioning physical and virtual assets across geographically dispersed environments while maintaining compliance, uptime, and business continuity. The environment is hybrid and diverse, spanning on-premise infrastructure, private and shared clouds, and hyperscale platforms such as Azure and AWS.

The initiative encompasses data center exits, hardware lifecycle management, virtual cutovers, high-availability planning, and infrastructure modernization. A core aspect of this role is to serve as a "relief valve" for overburdened internal technical teams during after-hours migrations and tactical data center transitions.

This is a full-time, hybrid role that will collaborate closely with client-side engineering teams to capture knowledge, refine project scopes, and ensure seamless execution. The PM will not manage other Tech9 team members but will integrate deeply with the clients systems engineering resources.

The ideal candidate will bring structure, strong cross-functional leadership, and a high level of technical literacy across infrastructure and hosting environmentsthough hands-on technical work is not required.

+ Partner with solution architects and engineers to gather detailed requirements and translate them into well-defined project scopes.

+ Coordinate across network, storage, and server teams to ensure aligned implementation.

+ Meticulously manage project timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation plans.

+ Support asset lifecycle management for servers, storage, and networking equipment, including end-of-life transitions and decommissioning.

+ Facilitate knowledge transfer and documentation from client engineering teams without disrupting their day-to-day workloads.

Monitor project health and adjust delivery plans to maintain velocity and accountability.

+ Report progress and surface risks proactively to client stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

+ 5+ years of experience managing technical projects involving software delivery, infrastructure deployments, platform migrations, or systems integration

+ Demonstrated expertise in coordinating hybrid infrastructure deployments (on-prem, private/public cloud).

+ Good understanding of hosting environments, data center operations, and virtual/physical system integration.

+ Experience with hybrid cloud models (Azure, AWS).

+ Familiarity with colocation and managed hosting strategies.

+ Strong project documentation, knowledge capture, and stakeholder management skills.

+ Ability to work independently, balance priorities, and lead in high-pressure environments.

Preferred Requirements

+ Experience supporting legacy infrastructure and planning for hardware end-of-life.

+ Asset lifecycle planning including recycling/decommissioning of classified or aging physical assets.

+ Prior experience in client-facing roles with high levels of ambiguity and need for knowledge ramp-up.

+ Familiarity with enterprise change management processes, compliance considerations, and global team coordination.
