About this position:
The Relay Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising and scheduling the work of Relay Technicians in the Relay Shop and coordinating work with Substation Operations personnel. The Supervisor will work closely with the Manager of Engineering, Relay Engineers, and Distribution Operations personnel. The Relay Shop Supervisor will directly report to the Substation Operations Manager.

About this job:
- Support, develop, and promote the existing safety culture.

- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Schedule work assignments for Relay Technicians
- Develop annual work plans for all direct reports for relay construction & maintenance
- Review work processes for Relay personnel
- Track material and charges for construction projects
- Manage the WECC testing process.
- Participate in engineering and planning for construction projects
- Coordinate ordering of equipment and materials
- Oversee warehouse operations.
- Support Transmission and Distribution Operations with project engineering and project management to scheduled completion and budgets
- Manage all scheduled maintenance activities
- Improve relay installation, equipment and material standards
- Inspect and monitor field relay installations and shop fabrication
- Travel required up to 40% of time

- Must be able to demonstrate a good safety record
- Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to work with little or no immediate supervision
- Excellent leadership and supervisory experience required
- Excellent computer and administrative skills required
- Four-year engineering or equivalent technical background and experience in substation and relay operation required
- PE or the ability to obtain preferred
- Must be able to coordinate, as necessary, with other parties to accomplish needed work
- Valid Montana Driver's License
