Relocation assistance may apply. This position offers opportunities to work on a wide array of projects in the industrial, commercial, hospitality, energy, and public sectors. This position requires the ability to handle multiple projects, interact with clients and government agencies, and effectively work with a team. Responsibilities include project management, permitting, design and preparation of civil site, grading, drainage, erosion control, and utility plans as well as design reports. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, embraces teamwork, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead technical work.
- Perform all aspects of design (grading, drainage, water, sewer, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
- Prepare technical reports, concept designs, construction specifications, construction drawings, bidding documents, and permit applications for approvals.
- Participate in value engineering and prepare construction cost estimates.
- Participate in both private and public sector clients/projects.
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
- Participate in client management, business development, and proposal preparation.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Sound knowledge of industry practice and demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of all phases of engineering document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; time management skills.
- Direct experience in client management and business development is an asset.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydrology / Hydraulic design software will be an asset. Experience and working knowledge in BlueBeam Revu, preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, business development activities, etc. Travel for multiple days (overnight travel) on occasion for meetings and to support project teams in other offices may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive civil engineering design experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
